SchoolStatus Classic can automatically create teacher accounts during the nightly sync process through teacher auto-provisioning.
This process reviews records in the teacher_demographics file each night and creates accounts for eligible teachers who do not already have an active account.
Requirements for Automatic Account Creation
A teacher account can be created during nightly sync when the teacher record includes:
- At least one active course
- A school location
- An email address
- No existing active account is associated with that teacher
💡 If all requirements are met, the account will be created automatically during the nightly sync.
Default Modules for New Accounts
New teacher accounts are created with a set of default modules; however, default modules can be configured at the district level based on your district’s setup. Typically, default modules may include, but are not limited to:
- Attendance
- Broadcast Messaging
- Communication Reports
- Student Groups
- Help Center
- Learning Lab
- Searchlight
- Simple Searchlight
- Student Group Admin
Automatic Updates to Existing Teacher Accounts
If a teacher already has an account and the SIS ID remains the same, the nightly sync can also update certain account details when changes are detected in the teacher demographics record.
The following details can be updated automatically:
- Teacher name
- Email address
❗️At this time, changes to the school location are not automatically updated in the user account.
