Use SchoolStatus to text student contacts via your computer browser or the SchoolStatus mobile app, all while keeping your personal cell phone number private.
Texting a Student Contact from the Web Browser
From the left side menu, click Contacts
Find the person you'd like to text, and click the blue text message icon. (Note that if the icon isn't "clickable" that means the number can't receive text messages.)
Type your 160 character message. You can also add up to 5 attachments here, as long as they are .jpg or .png format.
Once you've completed your message, press send. Then, go back to the menu and click Engagement to see your recent text conversations.
What if I want to send a link?
Just copy that link or type it out and send it. Your link might get shortened automatically to help reduce your character count. A message that reads:
Hello parents, please go to https://asjdfljdflajdfl.com
May be delivered as:
Hello parents, please go to https://ss.ly/123
How do I translate a message I am sending?
Simply type out your message, click the drop-down next to Translate to (language), and select the language you want to translate your message to. Note: when you translate the message, you will see the newly translated message display on your screen. Press Send when you are ready!
