Video Chat is the latest offering by SchoolStatus to help engage and connect with EVERY parent, regardless of their ability to visit in-person or download an app. Get all the details here.
What is Video Chat?
With Video Chat by SchoolStatus, educators can initiate a video chat with a parent or guardian in one click. A one-to-one video chat allows educators and parents to chat face-to-face without the inconvenience or risk of parents coming to the school. All video chats are logged and recorded on the Student Card, History, and Engagement dashboard.
What Features Do Video Chats Have Now?
Video Chat allows for recording, screen sharing, in-video chatting, attachments, and mute--all the traditional video meeting features. All this is provided to parents without their need to download or install an app. A simple URL is text to the parent and one click gets the parents into the video chat.
What Enhancements are Coming Next to Video Chats?
Our next feature set for Video Chat will include the scheduling of video chats and group meetings (meetings of up to six different devices).
We understand these features will be invaluable to the SPED team, RTI process, and parent/teacher conference experience. We’re working hard to provide these features very soon!
Will Video Chat Cost Extra?
Right now, SchoolStatus is offering a 30-day trial for everyone to give Video Chat a try! After the trial period, Video Chat will be an additional charge. For more information or a custom quote for your district, contact successteam@schoolstatus.com.
