Voice Communications
SchoolStatus Voice allows educators to make telephone calls over the Internet to a parent using a softphone built into our web browser. Voice uses the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) to connect to our voice servers, which is encapsulated in a UDP connection.
Protocols | Ports |
54.172.60.0 - 54.172.61.255 | TCP/UDP ports 10000-20000 |
34.203.250.0 - 34.203.251.255 | TCP/UDP ports 10000-20000 |
chunderw-gll.twilio.com | TCP port 443 |
matrix.twilio.com | TCP port 443 |
schoolstatus.zendesk.com 168.86.128.0/18 |
TCP/UDP ports 10000-20000 UDP ports 10000-60000 |
In order to utilize voice communications, users will need a microphone connected to their computer and must allow SchoolStatus to use the microphone (the browser typically prompts for this upon the first usage).
NOTE: If you have issues with voice communications, please visit https://networktest.twilio.com/. This site is provided by Twilio, the service that undergirds much of our voice communications. The test is a comprehensive process that checks several factors that affect voice communications both on the user's device and in the network environment where the device is connected. Also, in some network environments, it is possible that UDP port 3478 can be used in conjunction with Twilio's TURN service to establish a connection. If you have whitelisted the above IP Addresses and Ports and are still having issues, you may want to check this port as well.
Additionally, here are some IP Addresses that need to be whitelisted:
168.86.128.0/18
