What do I do if I can't see any students at all?
If you can't see students, that's a problem- and we want to help you fix it! Reach out to your district SchoolStatus administrator, or chat with us, call us at 601-620-0613 or email us at help@schoolstatus.com. We'll help you get it sorted out.
Why can't I see any of my students? (for teachers)
If you are a teacher, you should be able to see students when they enroll in your courses if your SchoolStatus account is linked to your teacher identity and you are granted access to their home school(s). This is usually a simple fix for us, since we are able to verify your school and see the courses you teach.
What if I can't find just one of my students?
If you're looking for a student who is MIA in your records search, chat with us. Send us the student's ID number, full name and grade level, after you've confirmed that the student is still an actively enrolled student in your SIS.
What if I need to see all students? (for counselors, librarians, school nurses)
Districts may give counselors, librarians and nurses access to all students in the school at an admin-level, sometimes with restrictions, because there is a chance you will need to access any student's records at a moment's notice. We'll just need to verify your job title, and confirm your district's access policy. You can email your district administrator or us at help@schoolstatus.com, and tell us what you do and what you need.
When a teacher needs to see all students, this can be accomplished by creating a school-wide dynamic group, and giving user/s access. The Searchlight filter would be set up as Enrolled = yes, School Name = (name). Then make a group that will update nightly, and make it visible to the user group you create for these users.
What if I only need a specific group of students, and they aren't enrolled in courses for me? (for speech pathologists, interventionists, coaches)
Let's say you're a JV basketball coach, and you need to make sure your players are keeping their grades up. Ask your supervisor, coordinator or principal to email us at help@schoolstatus.com and send us a roster of the students you need to see, along with their permission to grant student access to you, based on your role. We'll create a student group, and make it visible to you and any other users who may need to see those students.
What about me? I'm an Alternative school principal, or a Career Center/Vo-tech Director, and I can only see some of my students.
You can email us at help@schoolstatus.com, and cc your district SchoolStatus administrator. Tell us the issue you're having and your job title; then, tell us the home schools for your students.
