Direct, Read-only Database Access
With some SIS products (PowerSchool and Infinite Campus, for example,) we can leverage the SIS’s offering of an ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) account with read-only access to your data. Read-only access is appropriate for our access because we never write data back to the SIS. Typically, the customer requests the ODBC account (including connection details if appropriate) and then we supply a secure pathway for you to submit these account credential details for us to establish the connection and perform nightly querying and syncs to keep your data up-to-date.
OneRoster
We can integrate filesets based on the OneRoster specification. If your SIS can produce the traditional “oneroster.zip” fileset, we will supply you with SFTP details (hostname, username, and password) so that you can configure a nightly send at 6:30 pm Central.
SFTP
In addition to sending us OneRoster filesets via SFTP, we can receive files exported from your SIS that follow our data specifications. The data specifications document details the filenames, fields, type of field, and examples for data within each field. This document can be supplied upon request or as a part of your implementation process. Like the OneRoster filesets, we ask that these files are sent every night at 6:30pm Central.
Clever
We have the ability to integrate your SIS data via Clever. In Clever, look for the SchoolStatus Classic/Connect application and add it to your Clever applications (screenshot of icon below.)
You can then adjust the sharing settings for Schools, Classrooms, Students, and Contacts. We will get a notification that you have added our application and started sharing your data. We will then work to integrate your data from Clever into a nightly sync process.
As a district administrator, you may choose to share the following records with SchoolStatus Classic/Connect:
- District Leaders
- Schools
- School administrators
- Teachers
- Students
- Contacts
- Sections
- Extension fields
Sharing schools, sections, and staff members
Please only share the schools, staff members, and sections you plan to sync. You can find a Clever article about this sharing here.

ClassLink
We have the ability to integrate your SIS data via ClassLink. In ClassLink, look for the SchoolStatus Classic/Connect application and add it to your Clever applications (screenshot of icon below.)
After adding the SchoolStatus Classic/Connect app in ClassLink, you will be asked to set up permissions for our application.
When you have set up the app permissions, click Add App & Exit to confirm the action taken if asked.
You should also be sure to Enable it on the Apps page by clicking the toggle in the ENABLED column.
We will receive an email letting us know that we have been invited to your OneRoster data and will begin the process to integrate your SIS data into SchoolStatus.
