Parents can call you back using the same SchoolStatus phone numbers that you use to call and text you.
How do I enable incoming call return?
Head to Settings in SchoolStatus by clicking on Settings on the top menu of the screen.
Then click on Allow Incoming Calls.
You will also want to set some office hours if you don’t want Mrs. Johnson calling on Friday night. Scroll up and click on Add New Time Slot to add some office hours.
You can set office hours for an Everyday time slot.
Or you can set it for a specific time on specific days for as many days as you’d like.
What happens when I have an incoming call during office hours?
Note: In order to receive an incoming call on your cell phone, you'll need the SchoolStatus Mobile app. Make sure you have version 2.2 or higher for either iPhone and Android.
When a parent calls you and it is within your office hours, you will get a pop up on your screen if you are logged into SchoolStatus. The pop up will tell you who is calling and who they are calling about. If you are not logged into SchoolStatus, but you have the SchoolStatus App on your phone, you’ll also get a notification that you have an incoming call.

If you choose to decline the call, it will go to Voicemail, which will be available in SchoolStatus.
What happens when I receive an incoming call outside of office hours?
If a parent calls outside of your office hours, they will be told they are calling outside of office hours and be given the option to leave a voicemail. You'll receive an email when you have a new voicemail, and they will show up on the SchoolStatus web platform.
You can listen to the voicemails by clicking on Calls on the bottom right of the SchoolStatus screen.
All incoming calls are also automatically logged and automatically recorded. They will be part of your engagement history.
What does the parent hear when they call?
When a parent initiates a call to your SchoolStatus number (remember, we always mask your actual cell phone number), the parent will hear a recording that goes something like this:
This phone number is associated with SchoolStatus. If you are returning a missed call, it is from your child's school, made by (educator name), for (student name), at (school name.)
To leave a voicemail, press 1.
To speak to the faculty member directly, press 2.
To speak to the school, press 3.
To never receive a call or text from this number again, press 4.
If the parent chooses to ring you directly and the time falls within your office hours, your phone should ring. (Not sure what this is? Log into SchoolStatus on the web and go to your Settings page.)
If they choose any other option or if they abandon the process, this will show up for you as a missed call, even if you didn't actually "miss" a ringing call.
