Broadcast messaging is a feature in SchoolStatus that allows a user to send out single message to multiple users at once. It's like a group message but responses come back as 1 to 1 conversations, so when a parent replies other parents will not see that message.
Step 1: Click Broadcast from the bottom right of the screen
Step 2: Click +New Message, the orange button
Step 3: Select A Class
IMPORTANT NOTE: Contacts must be marked with the Star on the Student Card Contacts page in order to receive the Broadcast. For detailed instructions on how to mark stars on contacts read the article How To Star Preferred Contacts
Note : For this article I will provide instructions on sending a message to a course or courses.
Step 4: Select a Term
After hitting the button that says A Class you will choose a term from drop-down list on the right.
Choose the courses from the menu that follows by hitting the plus + sign next to the course on the right.
Pro-tip: You can choose more than one course
Step 5 : Hit Next
The next screen will give you a recap of which courses have been selected but it will also let you know the total number of contacts will be sent the message in the box that says Total Contacts. Hit Next to continue on to write type your message
Step 6 Type the message and add attachments
Type your message into the box. If you wish to add attachments, click the paper clip icon to add attachments then choose a file from your computer. Hit send when you have finished typing your message and adding attachments.
Step 7 : Hit Send
Hit Send to send your Broadcast Message.
You have now sent your Broadcast Message.
